Hey Oliver,

Dave is off cooking up a storm at work (okay, maybe not a storm, but probably some darn good chicken marsala), so I'm jumping in here to say thanks for the compliment! The layers did hold together pretty well in our quittata, though I don't know if my palate was quite discerning enough to distinguish one flavor set from another -- or maybe I was just too hungry to care!

As for the top photo -- call that a happy accident of late afternoon sun hitting the cutting board just right.

Btw, I love love love the site design over at Delicious Days. Beautiful work!

Hi Dave!

Your Quittata looks great! By looking at your last photo one can certainly tell the different tastes/aromas it maintains in the various layers.
Also, I like the top picture a lot, since it nicely plays with light and shadow...looking very much forward to your next entries...

Thanks, Owen! I have to admit, I'm a sucker for just about anything that involves puff pastry!

Really nice way to do something different. This looks like a lovely way to do something a bit different - the puff pastry sounds like a great decision and you could obviously make a lot of variations. Thank you for honoring us with your first full post!
