Paper Chef…. ooh, the suspense is starving me!

basil in curry

The delectable dishes are starting to come in and oh, are they making us hungry! So hungry in fact, that Chopper’s made a second batch of our non-entry entry for today’s lunch. That’s a sneak peek of it above, but we’re not giving away any details till we post the recipe just before round-up time.

And speaking of round-ups and time, we’re busy tomorrow, which means no round-up till later in the week, which means — you guessed it — there’s still time to enter! Quick! Race to the market before supper! Lamb, basil, oranges, and fish sauce. You know they go great with Monday Night Football, right?

That looks like beef-flavored cheerios with leaves. Mm!

    Damn, you’re good!

I’m entering! I actually made two dishes, from scratch, making them both up, yesterday. Oooh, they were gooood! I couldn’t use fish sauce, because that has MSG, and thus gluten. But I did use fish stock. Will that count? I’m posting tomorrow and sending it along to you then!

Hey Shauna — no worries at all! I wouldn’t dream of insisting you use anything with gluten in it. Yikes!

I did what I call my Greek Trainwreck with the lamb and added an Orange and Onion Salad. Here’s the permalink.
    Passing out now.

I think I can see grilled egg plant under the basil. I predict a Mediterranean dish with lamb, like um, pasta?

It looks like mushrooms underneath that lovely bunch of basil?? I didn’t make it for this month’s Paper Chef (for a number of reasons but the most important - no basil when grocery shopping and I couldn’t bring myself to substitute!) however, I did post a Not Paper Chef #12 entry on my blog. Looking forward to reading the round-up!
