Hey everyone! It's so neat to hear about all the little signs of spring from across the northern hemisphere. We've had, after eons of rain, a rather gorgeous week this week: More crocuses came up, and yesterday it was clear enough to see the mountains of North Vancouver -- which we also saw represented in a dish on last night's Iron Chef rerun!

Here's hoping late freezes and mudslides don't keep the early spring flowers from doing their thing!

Wow what a beautiful photo - we're still looking at snow and grey/brown trees.

Thanks for sharing.

LOL - referee-striped gingerbread cookies. Even though I'm from the Pittsburgh area, I have to admit you may have a point.

We have had some really beautiful paperwhite narcissi blooming in our yard, which seem unaffected by the freezes we've had the last few nights (which were, perversely, almost the only freezes we've had all winter).

Crazy weather. It was in the 70's here in SF today. It's warmer here in February than it is on any foggy summer day.

That yellow thing in the sky. Was it shiny? We got one of those, too! I had to wear things over my eyes that were made of glass (so I could see through them) but were smoky gray, to cut down the glare. Weird!!
Er, but, I am wondering about the green cheeto.
No I'm not! Ha ha ha!

Gorgeous. I almost think they're more beautiful in this stage than when they open. Almost.

Oh I am glad to see this picture. At least spring is coming in your part of the world, I hope it won't be long here.

Isn't that amazing? We've got snowdrops up the valley, my daffodils are turning yellow, although not open yet, and I have photos of cherry blossoms from TWO weeks ago in Seattle. WTF?

OTOH, my way out of town is closed due to landslide or another 1-4 weeks (been one already). Perhaps it's a parallel to your flu diary, my slide diary.
