Great post. I had been thinking yesterday of the 4th of July parade that took place every year in my small town when I was growing up. Then we’d have an all town potluck picnic. Things like that don’t happen as much in the city:-)

Ah, thanks all, but trust me, I left out the icky parts of the parade.
Not that our parade was at all icky compared to most… we just had a few, er, moments. Even little artist enclaves like this have their neocon types. ::shudder::
OTOH, we do have the most kick-assingly cool Pig War Reenactors. More on that when I get the piccies fixed up. Hee! Oink oink!
